Advance seat selection
Depending on the class of travel and fare type you choose, you may enjoy complimentary advance seat selection or opt to pay a fee to select your seat in advance. Here’s how it works:

Advance seat selection is subject to the availability of seats at the time of request. You may view the seat map for your flight, and change your seats via Manage Booking. Please note that vacant seats in the rows near you may be occupied subsequently.
If you choose not to select your seats in advance, complimentary seat selection is available once online check-in open, 48 hours before your flight departs. You may then select from any remaining seats via our website or at the check-in counter when you get to the airport.
More seating choices
Prefer a little more room to yourself in the air? Or maybe you’d like to be among the first to exit the plane? When you travel on Premium Economy or Economy Class, you can choose from the following seat types to best suit your travel needs:
Solo Seats
Solo Seat selection is available in Premium Economy Class for selected flights operating on our A350-900 (Ultra Long Range) aircraft type.
Extra Legroom Seats
Because a little extra room goes a long way. Our Extra Legroom Seats give you more space to stretch your legs and feature a wider seat pitch for better comfort. These seats are available in both Economy and Premium Economy Class for a fee.
As Extra Legroom Seats are usually found at the emergency exit rows, you must meet certain criteria before we can assign them to you. Passengers who do not meet these criteria at time of departure will have their seats changed, and no refunds will be given.
Forward Zone Seats
Forward Zone Seats are located closer to the doors, so you’ll be among the first to disembark the plane. If you’ve booked a Flexi fare type, you may select these seats in advance for free. Or simply pay a fee, starting from USD15, to choose a Forward Zone Seat if you’re travelling on another fare type in Economy Class.
Standard Seats
Standard Seats make up the rest of the seats in Economy Class. You may select these seats for free when you book a Value, Standard or Flexi fare type. When you book a Lite fare type, you may select a Standard Seat in advance for a fee. If you wish to sit in Standard Seats at emergency exit rows (which are available on certain aircraft types), you must meet certain criteria before we can assign them to you. Passengers who do not meet these criteria at time of departure will have their seats changed, and no refunds will be given.
Premium Economy Seat Selection
Passengers travelling on Economy Class may select seats in Premium Economy cabin at a fee. This is available only on selected flights and routes, subject to availability, and both Premium Economy Standard and Premium Economy Extra Legroom seats may be selected. Passengers who choose this option will be seated on a more comfortable Premium Economy Seat, while their class of service remains Economy and all fare conditions will remain the same as their originally-booked Economy Class fare.
Premium Economy Seat Selection for passengers holding Economy Class tickets is available at the following rates, for selected flights between Singapore and Jakarta, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Surabaya, Colombo, Dhaka, Maldives and Guangzhou.
Fees and exemptions
When you choose to pay a fee to select your seat in advance, the fee amount will vary depending on the seat type that you have chosen, and the length of that flight segment. A full fee list can be found here.
For KrisFlyer and PPS Club members
KrisFlyer Elite Silver, KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members may select seats from certain categories certain seat types in Economy Class and Premium Economy Class in advance for free, depending on their membership tier. Find out more.

For passengers travelling with a child or infant
All passengers travelling with infants in the same booking may select Forward Zone Seats or Standard Seats in advance for free. Passengers with children in the same booking may select Standard Seats in advance for free.
