Invitations are made at Singapore Airlines’ sole discretion based on certain criteria and a combination of factors, which are dynamic. To stand a chance of being invited, please ensure that your e-mail address is correctly indicated when making a booking so that we are able to contact you if you are eligible.
Alternatively, you may also check your eligibility in the search widget above by entering your booking reference number and last name, for flights that are departing within the next 72 hours.
Upgrades are not available in the following scenarios:
- Flights are not ticketed by Singapore Airlines
- Flights are not operated by Singapore Airlines
- More than 9 passengers booking
- Infant(s) in booking
- Redemption award tickets
- Flight Pass bookings
- Bookings with Economy Lite or Economy Value fare types and Premium Economy Lite fare types
Not all flights in your booking are eligible for upgrade. Eligibility is decided at Singapore Airlines’ sole discretion, and eligible flights will be detailed in an e-mail you will receive. For example, if a flight is not operated by Singapore Airlines, or you do not have a confirmed reservation for a particular flight, those flights will not be eligible for upgrade.
Upgrade availability is updated in real time, hence it may change between the time the invitation to upgrade is sent and when you click on "Get Upgraded".
Invitations to purchase an upgrade are sent to one e-mail address within the eligible booking. Although you did not receive the invitation to purchase an upgrade through your own e-mail address, the person who receives the invitation will be purchasing on behalf of everyone in that booking.
If your companion has made a booking separate from yours, kindly inform them to check for the invitation to bid through their own e-mail address. Alternatively, they can check if their itinerary is eligible for upgrade through the widget above.
Do note that purchases tied to different bookings are assessed separately, and we are unable to guarantee that both passengers will be upgraded together.
Upgrades are only valid for the specific flight/date indicated in the invitation email. If you make changes to the flight in your original booking, the upgrade may not be applied onto your new flight.
Click on the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the upgrade invitation e-mail to stop receiving invitations to upgrade.
The upgrade price will be shown once you enter your booking reference and last name in our widget. This price is not negotiable.
It is not inclusive of your original airfare.
The upgrade price you see on the offer page is on a "per passenger" basis, and the same price will be applied to each passenger in the booking when submitted.
During the offer process, the applicable number of passengers will be shown under the “Your offer(s)” section. This should match the number of passengers in your booking.
Yes, you may, as long as the child is not an infant. Do note that you can only purchase for all passengers in your booking, including any child, and that the purchase amount for all passengers will be the same.
Yes, you may. However, you will need to contact your local Singapore Airlines Reservations & Ticketing office, and request for your booking to be split so that those passengers who want to be upgraded may purchase together. The rest of the passengers in that booking will not be affected by the purchase.
Purchase can be selected separately for each flight in your booking, so you should see the choices available in the upgrade offer page.
The online offer window closes 9 hours prior to the departure of each eligible flight. Please note that if you would like to purchase an upgrade within 9 hours to the departure of your flight, please approach our airport check-in counter to enquire.
Yes. Apart from purchasing the upgrade through the offer page link found in our e-mail invites, you may also purchase an upgrade by entering your booking reference number and last / family name in the widget above.
You may also enquire about upgrade purchase at the airport at our check-in counters.
We accept credit cards, debit cards or KrisFlyer miles.
No, each upgrade purchase can only be paid for using one credit card.
Yes, you may use your KrisFlyer miles to pay in full for your upgrade. However, you cannot mix miles with cash.
Payment will only be deducted from your credit card if your purchase is successful.
All applicable prepayable airline taxes and fees are covered by the total amount shown on the offer confirmation screen. Do note that your payment card issuer may impose additional fees or charges. Please contact your payment card issuer should you have any queries regarding the final amount charged.
Any payment for upgrade purchase will be labelled “SINGAPOREAIR MYSQUPGRADE.”
Return to the offer process using the “Back” button on the offer pages (using the back button of your browser will not work), and check that you have entered all your details correctly. Some banks may decline this transaction, do try contacting your bank to allow the transaction. If you still receive an error message, contact us.
Please allow two to four hours for the purchase confirmation e-mail to be generated. Also check the spam folder of your e-mail account. If you still do not receive a confirmation e-mail after following these steps, contact us.
No, you will not be able to purchase an upgrade after the offer window has closed. All purchases online must be completed at least 9 hours before departure for the relevant flight segment. For purchases within 9 hours of your departure, please approach our airport counter to enquire.
You will be informed of the outcome of your purchase via e-mail after payment.
No, we do not specify why a flight is ineligible for upgrade. Please note that the outcome of your upgrade purchase is determined by a combination of various factors, including real-time update of seat availability.
We consider the number of seats available at the point of purchase. Seat availability is updated in real-time.
Successful upgrades are non-transferable, non-refundable, and are only valid on the specific flight/date the upgrade was purchased for.
All special requests from your original booking will be carried over to your upgraded flight segment. However, it does not guarantee that your special request will be fulfilled.
No, it won’t. Such fees and purchases are refundable, hence if you are successfully upgraded, please contact us to request for a refund if you do not require the services anymore.
No, it is not possible to maintain seating arrangements after the upgrade is confirmed. We cannot guarantee the availability of neighboring seats at the point when your upgrade is confirmed, as others who purchased Premium Economy Class or Business Class tickets earlier would already have selected their seats.
Yes, you can do so when you check-in. If you had selected a seat in the original cabin prior to your upgrade being confirmed, this selection will no longer be valid and you will have to select a seat in the upgraded class during check-in. Note that we cannot guarantee the availability of neighboring seats at the point when your upgrade is confirmed, as others who have purchased Premium Economy Class or Business Class tickets earlier would have already selected their seats.
You can select your meal in Manage Booking, up till 24 hours prior to flight departure. Pre-order will not be available if you have checked in prior to upgrade. Book the Cook meals are subject to availability depending on the origin of your flight segment.
If you have pre-ordered a Book the Cook meal in your original class, it will not be brought forward to the upgrade class.
All images used in the upgrade invitation email and offer pages are for illustration purposes only. Actual product depends on aircraft type and the aircraft for any flight may be changed last-minute due to operational requirements.
You can do so by clicking "Get boarding pass" via online or mobile check-in. Alternatively, you can approach any of our airport staff for assistance.
Your ability to change or cancel your flight will depend on the fare conditions of your original booking, but your upgrade will be forfeited should you choose to change or cancel your flight, as an upgrade purchased is non-transferrable and non-refundable once successful. If your original ticket is refundable, do note that you can refund your ticket through Manage Booking. You will not be able to change your original booking through Manage Booking once you have been upgraded. You will have to contact your Singapore Airlines office to make any further changes.
No further redemption or cash upgrades can be applied on a segment that has already been upgraded via mySQupgrade.
