Travel Advisory for passengers with travel history to the United Kingdom in the last 14 days

Due to the Singapore government's regulatory requirements, travellers with a travel history to the United Kingdom within the past 14 days will be allowed to enter or transit through Singapore. This also applies to long-term pass holders and short-term visitors, with the exception of those who were issued an approval letter from Singapore government agencies after 23 December 2020. While Singapore citizens and Singapore permanent residents with a travel history to the United Kingdom within the past 14 days may enter Singapore, they are not allowed to transit through Singapore Changi Airport. Singapore Airlines customers with bookings for flights departing from the United Kingdom with effect from 23 December 2020 will be affected by this requirement. For more information on the Singapore government’s latest border measures, please refer here.

Testing Requirements and Stay-Home Notice

Returning Singapore citizens and Singapore permanent residents will be required to undergo a Covid-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test upon arrival in Singapore. They will also have to undergo an additional seven-day self-isolation at their place of residence, following their 14-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN) at dedicated SHN facilities. They will undergo a Covid-19 test at the end of their SHN, and will be tested again after they have completed their seven-day self isolation period. More details here.

Please note that all costs associated with the SHN and Covid-19 tests will be borne by the traveller.

Bookings made directly with Singapore Airlines

Affected passengers will be notified of their travel options via SMS, email or through the SingaporeAir mobile app. Please be assured that customers whose bookings were cancelled or who no longer will be able to travel as they do not meet the entry requirements into Singapore may choose to rebook or seek a refund of the unused portion of their tickets. For customers who booked directly with Singapore Airlines, they may use our Assistance Request Form to submit their request.

Bookings made through travel agents

Customers who purchased their tickets through a travel agent may also choose to rebook or seek a refund of the unused portion of their tickets. Should they require assistance, they should contact their travel agent directly for assistance. Do note the travel agent may charge fees, depending on the terms and conditions of the booking with the agency.

Same-plane service for passengers departing from the United Kingdom to Australia or New Zealand

Singapore Airlines has received approval to carry passengers from London Heathrow Airport to Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth or Auckland via Singapore. These transfer passengers will remain in the aircraft while in Singapore before continuing on to either Australia or New Zealand. Transfer and non-transfer passengers will be seated separately, and customers are required to stay in their designated seating zone throughout the flight. The expected ground time in Singapore is about 90 minutes, except for flights to Adelaide where the layover in Singapore will be 5 hours and 35 minutes. During this time, customers may approach our crew if they require refreshments. Please note that passengers are not allowed to change their seat during this time to comply with regulatory requirements.

Passengers are responsible for ensuring that they meet the travel requirements for all destinations in their itinerary. Due to regulatory requirements for entry into New Zealand and Australia, customers must also take a Covid-19 PCR test within 72 hours prior to the scheduled departure time of their flight and received a negative test result to be accepted for boarding. Do note that pre-departure test certificates from the UK National Health Service are not accepted for travel.

The health and safety of our staff and customers remain our utmost priority. SIA will continue to employ stringent
health and safety measures to safeguard our customers’ well-being. We will continue to monitor the situation and remain guided by the regulatory authorities.
