Advance seat selection at a glance

Depending on the class of travel and fare type you choose, you may pay a fee to select your seat in advance. Here’s how it works:

Suites, First Class or Business Class
You’ll enjoy complimentary seat selection at any time.

Premium Economy Class
You may select seats in advance for free. Or, if you wish to fly in greater comfort, you may select an Extra Legroom Seat for a fee. 

Economy Class
Depending on the fare type you choose, you may select a seat in advance for free or a fee. Alternatively, you may select any available Economy Class seat for free when online check-in opens, 48 hours before your flight departs. Passengers holding economy class tickets may also select seats in Premium Economy Cabin (Standard and Extra Legroom Seats) for a fee, only on specific flights, and on these routes: to/from Jakarta, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Surabaya, Colombo and Dhaka.

For KrisFlyer Elite and PPS Club members

KrisFlyer Elite Silver, KrisFlyer Elite Gold and PPS Club members may select seats from certain categories in Economy Class and Premium Economy Class in advance for free, depending on their membership tier.

For passengers travelling with a child or infant

When travelling on an Economy Lite fare, all passengers with a child or infant in the same booking may select Standard Seats in advance for free.

Seat types

There are three categories of seats to choose from in Economy Class: Standard, Forward Zone and Extra Legroom Seats.

Extra Legroom Seats

Previously known as Preferred Seats, Extra Legroom Seats provide more room to stretch your legs, as well as a wider seat pitch. These seats are available in both Premium Economy and Economy Class.

Forward Zone Seats

Forward Zone Seats

Located closer to the doors, Forward Zone Seats enable you to be among the first in Economy Class to disembark the plane. You may select these seats in advance for free when you book a Flexi fare type.
When you book a Lite or Standard fare type, you may select a Forward Zone Seat in advance for a fee.

Standard seats

Standard Seats

All seats in Economy Class that are not Forward Zone or Extra Legroom are Standard Seats. You may select a Standard Seat for free when you book an Economy Value, Standard or Flexi fare type, or when you travel with a child or infant. If you book a Lite fare type, you may select a standard seat in advance for a fee.
