Physician Tan Koon Yaw holds a PhD in TCM and is the assistant principal and head of the Centre of Continuing Education at the Singapore College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Tan obtained his PhD in TCM from Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine and his bachelor’s degree in TCM from the Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine and Singapore College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He also obtained his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and Bachelor of Science with Honours in Mathematics from the National University of Singapore.
He is currently the director of the Third Council of Education Instruction Committee in the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies. Tan is also a member of the Specialty Committee of TAN Syndrome of World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies. He is also the chairman of the English Centre Committee, vice chairman of Centre of Continuing Education Committee and member of Academic Board and Examination Board at the Singapore College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He is a qualified registered TCM practitioner and currently practises in Singapore Chung Hwa Medical Institute.
