Singapore Airlines Eases PPS Club And KrisFlyer Elite Status Renewal Criteria

01 September 2020 - Singapore Airlines (SIA) has introduced several new initiatives that will result in PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite members requiring only half of the PPS Value or Elite miles that they would usually need to retain their current statuses beyond March 2021, and make it easier for them to earn these status credits.

Today, all PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite memberships are automatically extended by 12 months when they expire between March 2020 through to February 2021.

For memberships that expire between March 2021 and February 2022, SIA will credit 50% of the PPS Value as Reserve Value or Elite miles required for renewal into the PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite members’ accounts respectively. As a result, PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite members need to accrue only half of the PPS Value or Elite miles required during the membership year to retain their statuses.

In addition, from today until 15 October 2020, PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite members can earn PPS Value or Elite miles on non-air spend and activities. This will also count towards their renewal of their membership statuses. More details are available in the Annex.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, SIA has introduced several initiatives to support its members. This includes extending the validity of all PPS Rewards and Elite Gold Rewards that are due to expire in 2020 to March 2021. The validity of KrisFlyer Elite miles that were expiring between April and December 2020 have also been extended by between six to 12 months. PPS Club Gift Vouchers issued in 2019 have had their validity period extended through to December 2020.

Singapore Airlines will continue to review its loyalty programmes and membership conditions where necessary.

JoAnn Tan, Acting Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, Singapore Airlines said: “We are very grateful to our PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite members, who have shown unwavering support for Singapore Airlines throughout this unprecedented crisis. By making it easier for them to renew their membership status, we hope to both allay their concerns and show our appreciation for their loyalty.”
