“With just one phone number, our customers can reach us anytime, from almost anywhere in the world with their roaming-enabled mobile phone. This service will make it even easier for our customers to contact us."
24 July 2009 - Have you been in a situation overseas where you needed to get in touch with Singapore Airlines but did not know what number to call?
Singapore Airlines is pleased to announce that with immediate effect, Solitaire Priority Passenger Service (PPS) Club members with Singapore mobile numbers can enjoy the convenience of being able to directly get in touch with a customer service representative from anywhere in the world, simply by sending a Short Message Service (SMS) text message.
The introduction of the SMS contact service, known as PPS Connect, means that all customers will have to do is text their PPS Club membership number to a designated number. Once the SMS is sent from their mobile phones, customers will receive an SMS confirmation of receipt within minutes and a call from a customer service representative no more than 30 minutes later.
To use the service, Solitaire PPS Club members will just need to register their details via a website link sent to them.
Said Singapore Airlines’ Senior Vice-President Product and Services, Mr Yap Kim Wah, “With just one phone number, our customers can reach us anytime, from almost anywhere in the world with their roaming-enabled mobile phone. This service will make it even easier for our customers to contact us."
The service was developed in partnership with Singapore-based technology company Intregen, which provides mobile solutions for corporate and personal users.
Mr Chris Lang, Chief Technology Officer of Intregen, said, "Intregen is pleased to partner with Singapore Airlines to launch an automated, global SMS contact service for its Solitaire PPS Club Members. This is an innovative, convenient and cost effective way for passengers to contact the airline from anywhere in the world, using Intregen's patented technology."
